Biesse and GMM at Marmomac 2024: a wider equipment conversation

Biesse’s September 26, 2024 Marmomac report described the combined Biesse and GMM stone machinery range. It identified machining centers, bridge saws, waterjet cutters, edge polishers and handling systems as part of the presentation, with Diamut tools shown separately at the fair.

The report also distinguished displayed innovations from their intended market timing: some GMM features were described as becoming available from early 2025. That is an important detail when using an older show report to research a machine now offered for sale.

Evaluate the connections between operations

A broader portfolio is useful to a shop when it makes the handoff between machines easier to discuss. Follow a representative part from slab loading through cutting and edge finishing. Ask where it waits, how it moves and which operator owns the next step.

For a current quotation, obtain a written configuration rather than assuming the show machine and the proposed machine are identical. Record the included tooling, handling equipment, training and service arrangements. Where an option was announced later, establish whether it is present on the specific unit being considered.

The Marmomac presentation provides a dated reference for Biesse’s expanding stone offering. The practical opportunity for fabricators is a more connected discussion of the production line, supported by the actual specification of each component.
