The starting point

The Orlando edition paired a large materials exhibition with demonstrations, tours and business education.

Coverings' May 2023 closing release reported nearly 27,000 participants at the April 18–21 event in Orlando. The organizer recorded more than 1,000 exhibitors representing 40 countries, alongside 24 learning sessions, 95 demonstrations and presentations, and nine show-floor tours.

Its education covered three areas: installation and fabrication, materials and trends, and workforce and profits. The show also featured an Art Tile Village and a distributor lounge, giving different parts of the tile and stone community their own points of connection.

Material discovery works better with implementation questions

For a fabrication shop, seeing a new surface is only the beginning. The team also needs to understand where to obtain it, which documentation applies and what changes it may require in the production process.

The combination of exhibits and education makes it possible to structure that investigation. One person can collect the design information while another records technical questions and follow-up contacts. Compare notes before a new product becomes a showroom promise.

The 2023 release presents an event with both international breadth and several practical ways to learn. Its photograph of the Tile of Spain pavilion gives visual context to the materials side of the show. The production and business lessons still depend on the specific questions a shop takes into its supplier conversations.
