The June 24, 2024 Stone+tec closing release reported around 250 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and approximately 10,800 visitors. AFAG said exhibitor participation increased 20% and visitor numbers 12% compared with the 2022 event.
The exhibition covered building with natural stone, professional equipment, memorial work and tile design. Its supporting program included a congress, a working demonstration area, the German Natural Stone Award and a young-talent competition organized by the German stonemasons' association.
Craft knowledge belongs beside equipment
For a countertop business, the useful idea is the connection between machines and the people who apply judgment to a job. Equipment can be discussed in terms of capacity and process, while training helps a team understand which decisions still need experience and supervision.
A shop reviewing international events should also distinguish different market segments. A technique or machine used for architectural or memorial stone is not automatically a direct fit for countertop production. It may still introduce a useful approach or a supplier worth investigating.
The 2024 report gives Stone+tec a clear identity: a trade gathering that keeps craft, equipment and professional development in the same conversation. That is a constructive model for a shop planning how to develop both its production capability and its next generation of skilled staff.
