TISE 2024: machinery and shop-management questions shared the floor

TISE 2024 took place January 24–26 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Informa's closing release reported more than 21,000 registered professionals and nearly 700 brands. Registration is the measure used in that release; it is not interchangeable with verified attendance or the number of countertop fabricators present.

The International Surface Fabricators Association's account adds a useful fabrication perspective. It described machinery demonstrations and programming on material specifications, workflow, software, staffing and sales. Its recap also pictured Park Industries' JAVELIN, placing a recognizable machine alongside the wider discussion of running a shop.

Technology includes the work around the machine

A machine exhibition is especially useful when the office and production questions receive attention too. Equipment selection can affect drawing preparation, job release, operator training and the order in which work enters the shop. These topics belong in the same purchasing conversation.

For a team researching this edition, build two short lists: products worth understanding and operational problems worth discussing. A supplier follow-up becomes more productive when it begins with a real job, an existing bottleneck and the information the team can supply.

The positive lesson from the 2024 accounts is that fabricator education was broad enough to include both machinery and management. The records support that variety; they do not establish that any particular purchase produced a financial return.
